Big Cuppies

I had some left over cuppies.
So why not try some new colors and styles?
Then pass them onto the ladies that work with my honey!

Ooooh did I mention they we the "messed" up ones?
Only on the outside, not on the inside!

Don't worry....
I think they will get eaten!

For the Neighbors....Of Course!

In "thoughts from my polka dotted brain" I mentioned that we moved.
Just to another building in the same condo complex.
Saving $200 a month and an extra bathroom!
Any who-this means new neighbors!
A great reason to bake!!

Some chocolate with chocolate butter cream.
Some vanilla with vanilla butter cream.
Some of both!

Trying out some new swirl styles!

And there you have it!
You don't have to be my neighbor to enjoy....
Just place an order!

They Are Having a Baby!!

Glen and Caroline (our neighbors...and friends)
are having a baby!!!!!!
So of course I had to bake!

I have been dying to try this technique on butter cream.
Not so great!
Have I mentioned butter cream is HARD to work with??
I cannot WAIT until my cake decorating class!

I also have been dying to make a mini cake!
This is a 3 layer 4"x2" cake.
I used pink and blue because they don't know what they are having....yet.
The cake is 2 layers of chocolate and 1 layer of vanilla.
The icing is vanilla butter cream. YUM.

Our family cannot wait for Glen and Caroline to join the ranks of parenthood!
Congratulations!!!

Ice Cream Cone Cuppies

So- these are some "ice cream cone" cuppies!
For Miss Anna Banana's Birthday!

They were very tricky!
Not too hard to bake........
Very hard to ice!
Only because they were SO top heavy!

Moving on.....
I made some "letter" chocolates......

And walll-laaa......
Happy Birthday Anna!!!!!

My First Sale!!!!!

Can I say- WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!
My very first sale!!!!! Thank you God:)!
These cuppies were for another dancer, but this time she was a tiny dancer!

You see there was a dance recital this past weekend.
And everyone loves to celebrate with some sweets!
The after party for this tiny dancer was at her grandma's after the big show!

Her sweet momma placed the order.
She requested that the cuppies would match her tiny little dancers costume.
You guessed it- white with red polka dots!

And every tiny dancer needs some tulle.
Even the big dancers need some tulle.
Come to think of it, every girl needs some tulle!

Sweet Surprise

This cake was a surprise I made for my very sweet neighbor, Caroline!
I wasn't super pleased because of some fondant issues.
Lets just say talking on the phone while decorating is not a good idea!

A close up view.

The wires were a new addition for me, but I thought so much fun!
The birthday party was super fun, and I think the cake was a hit!

Oh Happy Day

What fun I had making this cake!

It was for a very special lady who owns and runs a ballet studio.

The cake had to have a tutu...of course!!

Add some cuppies.

Give them some tutus and a little flair.

And hopefully you have one Happy Birthday!

Happy Ending to a Happy Birthday

Yum!! Everyone enjoyed the cake.

Which makes for a very happy baker.

There was even enough for the

birthday girl to take some home!

Speaking of, she let me take a piece home, I am going to go enjoy!

A Baby Shower and A Cake

So this is it. The cake I made for my very dear friend Stacy. She lives in CA and came home to Sarasota for a baby shower. What a great time we had! She had no clue that I was baking her a cake and the look on her face was priceless!!

Just playing around with the photo editor again...

(scroll down further for some up close and personal shots of the cake)

The shower was a huge success! It was put on by another great friend, Christy. It was a mini High School reunion in fact! We had such a great time showering Stacy with gifts, baby girl gifts!! What could be better?! I am thankful for that day! What a joy it was to make the cake and enjoy great friends!

Love you girls.......
